In a video posted online, the group named a 32-year-old from British Columbia who it claims blackmailed 15-year-old girl Amanda Todd by sending topless photos of her to friends and family.
The girl's body was found at her home last Wednesday, five weeks after she posted a sad video on YouTube detailing how she was harassed online and bullied at school.
A member of Anonymous, clad in a Guy Fawkes outfit and speaking with an auto-tuned voice, claims in a separate video posted online today that the group had discovered a connection between Amanda and another man at a so-called jailbait forum.
The group posted information on the internet that identified the man by name, address and previous employment.
"At the most this is the person who did this to Amanda Todd," the group wrote. "At the least it's another pedophile that enjoys taking advantage of children."
Amanda's mother has previously told media that an unknown man Amanda met online had convinced her to send him some topless photos of herself - but then turned on her when she refused to reveal more of herself.
The man reportedly retaliated by sending the photos he did have to her school friends. After continued harassment at school, Amanda moved to another school but the man managed to track her down and the torment continued.
Local TV news station CKNW visited the man's supposed house but said no one was answering the door even though lights were on inside.
"Neighbours say it is a known party house on the weekend with lots of young women coming and going and the beer cans are overflowing from a bin on the back porch," the news report said.
Canadian police are following up on the information provided by Anonymous but issued a warning to those tempted to become online vigilantes, the Toronto Sun reports.
Hate groups have already sprung up on Facebook, with names like "[man's name] better sleep with one eye open".
